Waves Turn On Sunday 2nd May 2004
NASA was on Sunday the 2nd of May at South Avalon and the waves were looking so good. There was a good swell from the south with 3-4' left and right handers with some of the rights just going off.

This was our 3^rd monthly comp for the year. We have been pretty lucky this year with the swell and weather, but this comp topped the lot. We had great waves with perfect temps. This was the first event with all the WQS and pro Junior surfers at home which made for some great surfing. This also made the grommets lift their surfing to a higher level.

Groms

Jack McDonald was the in form surfer all day with some big top turns, with Alex Nolan getting good rides, Billy Baine making another final this year he is showing some great potential.

Girls

Three from three for Raine Jackson she looks like she wants back to back titles but she will have to stay on her game with Charlie Nolan and Holly Matthewson hot on her tail.

Cadets

Mitchell Dick took full control of the final with his powerful forehand with Jazz Krotram really making his mark this year radical surfing.

Opens

The two Pro Junior surfers took control with Tom Rudd edging out Shane Carroll for first place, David Hammond the veteran, has his sites on the trip to Indo and with Jay Quinn surfing in NASA this year it may all change it again.

The trip is for the end of year Opens.

This year we are having 4 comps as the super series and the other 8 comps are just regular club monthly comps. The Super Series is where our sponsors put in a great amount of support and product that not only goes to the winners but also providing a lot of encouragement awards for the surfers that have been improving over the year . This has helped the Club keep such a big member base.
