CHANGING THE WORLD 1 T AT A TIME

CHANGING THE WORLD ONE T AT A TIME WED 18TH NOVEMBER 2009

You can change the world one T-shirt at a time!

Chemicals, pesticides,  fertilizers, machinery and freight pollution, child labor, all can factor into your non-organic T, the T you're likely wearing right now!

Why let what you wear tear down the environment?

Who'd have thought organic non-chemical, non-pesticide, non-processed, non-child labor clothing could look so good?

Monkey & The BrownMan has come upon the secret of making hip, surf-style T's that wear well on your body and the world.

Their  T's are made right here in Australia from 100% certified organic cotton. So you get all the style while spreading the love.

What does Monkey & The BrownMan's 'organic' mean to you, apart from offering the coolest threads on the planet?

There are no pesticides used so you're not getting dangerous chemicals infused into your skin. Check out Organic Cotton on Wikipedia to get some idea of the chemicals that your non-organic T could be rubbing off on you.

Organic cotton living in harmony

Interestingly, organic cotton can be grown in different colours. In other words it doesn't need to go through the additional pollution of the dye process

There's also a huge benefit on a global scale as while cotton uses only 2.5% of cultivated land it uses 16% of the world's insecticides that no doubt eventually wash into the rivers and oceans - your surf!

Using organic cotton will help reduce the global problem of these pesticides by a factor of 5!

'Organic' also means the cotton seeds are non-genetically modified, so you're supporting a natural growing process and your local Aussie farmer.

There's no synthetic fertilizers used, so there's no soil damage nor the additional pollution associated with these synthesized chemicals. And the organic cotton is dry land (non-irrigated) farmed, saving our valuable water and preventing run-off into rivers and the ocean.

This is just part of how Monkey & The BrownMan contribute to improve things, along with:
- using sustainable &/or organic fibres
- sourcing vintage & recycled fabrics
- working with like-minded companies
- designing a product that has long-term appeal
- becoming a member of 1% For The Planet
- & committing to donate 1% of their revenues to an environmental non-profit organisation that works to protect & restore global ecology for all of us

Along with all that good stuff Monkey and The BrownMan are immersed in the surf of the Northern Beaches, based in Collaroy, and have captured the great surf feel in their colours and prints.

With their T's running as limited editions, the T you choose can be representative of your own unique style. And there's accessories, kids gear, and more...

There you have it!

An easy, local, hip way for you to save the world one T at a time with Monkey & The BrownMan.
